I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to Dr. Budhendranauth Doobay, founder of the Doobay Medical and Research Centre, on being awarded the Order of Canada, the highest civilian honour in the country.
Dr. Doobay, a Guyanese cardiovascular surgeon, renowned religious leader and founder of the Vishnu Mandir in Canada, has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to medicine, community service, and interfaith dialogue. His dedication to healthcare, particularly in cardiovascular surgery, has positively impacted countless lives. Dr. Doobay’s leadership extends beyond medicine as he serves as a mentor and role model, inspiring future generations and strengthening the Guyanese-Canadian community.
