St. Ignatius, Bartica, Santa Rosa, Waramuri advance to semifinals

Four hinterland schools in the form of St. Ignatius, Bartica, Santa Rosa, and Waramuri will contest the semifinal round in the Blue Water Girl’s U-15 Football Championship today following respective quarterfinal wins yesterday.

Staged at the National Training Centre, Providence, St. Ignatius bested President’s College 4-3 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended 0-0. Meanwhile, Bartica edged Queen’s College 1-0 via a Norishmar Williams strike in the 14th minute.

Likewise, Santa Rosa downed Bush Lot 1-0 through a Veronica Chatta strike in the second minute, while Waramuri edged Tucville via the identical score-line. Allia Henry converted in the sixth minute.
