Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the Guyana Power and Light Inc (GPL) will be relocating and reconfiguring its network to facilitate the Gas-to-Energy Project and this will affect electricity supply for customers from Best Road to Vriesland from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
A statement from the utility said that GPL’s role and responsibilities within Guyana’s energy sector provides the Company the opportunity to be integrally involved in five project components: 300 MW Power Plant, Transmission lines and Substations, Modern Control Centre Building and SCADA Equipment.
With GPL’s expertise in power plant construction and generation, and transmission and distribution lines, the Company’s leading technical team have been integrally involved in the supervision of Stantec relative to the preparation of technical functional specifications of these projects, the release said.
At the current project execution stage, GPL continues to provide technical aid relative to clarification and/or recommendations proffered by the EPC Contractors, through the Task Force.
