The 16th edition of the Guyana Cup will be staged on August 11th at the Rising Sun Turf Club, according to a release from the organising body, the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee.
According to the correspondence, in excess of $40,000,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, with the feature event attracting a prize of $11,625,000 for the eventual victor.
The release further stated that 10 races have been confirmed on the provisional programme, noting that entries will open on July 27th and close on August 3rd.
The release stated that in addition to the feature event, which will run at approximately 1800 metres, other races on the provisional card include: the 1600-metre derby, the 1000-metre Sprint classic, the 1000-metre two-year-old, the 1000-metre F1 class, the 1600-metre H1 class, the 1400-metre J & L, the 1400-metre K class, and the 1400-metre L class for non-earners.”
