St. Ignatius of Region #9 won the inaugural Blue Water Girl’s U-15 Football Championship, defeating Waramuri of Region #1 in the final yesterday on penalty kicks at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Centre in Providence.
Locked at 0-0 at the end of regulation time, St. Ignatius emerged victorious as they prevailed over Waramuri 3-2 via the penalty shootout route.
Meanwhile, in the third-place playoff, Santa Rosa of Region #1 defeated Bartica of Region #7 by a 7-6 score-line in a sudden death penalty shootout after full time ended scoreless.
