Western Tigers clawed their way past Anns Grove by a 2-1 score-line when the KFC Elite League resumed on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
All three of the conversions were recorded in a see-saw first half. Andrew Murray opened the scoring for the West Ruimveldt based outfit, as he found the back of the net in the ninth minute. He then doubled his side’s advantage two minutes later to complete his brace.
Anns Grove would reduce the deficit in the form of Ryan Seales, who etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 22nd minute. However, it only proved to be consolation goal as the score-line remained unchanged for the remainder of the contest. With the win, Western Tigers climbed to 15 points and moved into the fifth position. On the other hand, Anns Grove remains in eight place on 11 points. The tournament is scheduled to resume on Thursday at the same venue with another round of matches.
