The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) disarmed Classic Ball Blasters (CBB) 3-1 when the Demerara Volleyball Association Senior Men’s League continued at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Trailing 0-1 after losing the first set 23-25, the army unit restored parity to proceedings in the second stanza, as they prevailed 25-20. They then secured a 2-1 lead as they outhustled CBB 25-20 in the third set. The come-from-behind win was then sealed as GDF outscored CBB 25-16 in the fourth set.
Meanwhile, on Thursday at the same venue, Alphas defeated Vengy 3-1. Alphas seized control of the contest as the first period ended 27-25. They then doubled their advantage as they prevailed 25-19 in the second stanza. However, Vengy reduced the deficit in the third set, as they emerged victorious by a 25-21 score.
Nevertheless, the victory was then sealed in the fourth set as Alphas won by a 25-17 score-line. The event continues today at the same venue with another encounter.
