National School Basketball Festival

St. Stanislaus College, the Bishops High, and Linden Technical Institute (LTI) secured quarterfinal berths following contrasting wins when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG)-coordinated National School Basketball Festival continued on Monday at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

St. Stanislaus College dismissed Berbice High 46-34. Daniel Chisholm registered a double-double of 12 points and 18 rebounds, while Rolson Pollard contributed 13 points. On the other side, Cayden Pydana recorded 11 points and nine rebounds, with Avion Kesney the next best scorer with 10 points.

Likewise, the Bishops’ High defeated Skeldon Line Path 36-26. Colwyn Stephens amassed 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kyrie Butters netted seven points. On the other side, Reavon Simon and Isaac Rogers scored seven and six points, respectively. On the other hand, LTI edged Vryman’s Erven 41-37. Stephen George amassed a double-double of 15 points and 19 rebounds, while Tehmel Tyrell added nine. For the loser, I-Grade Oudkerk recorded a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie High downed the School of the Nations 31-23. Isaiah Cameron tallied five points and seven rebounds, while Vladimir DaSilva netted five points. On the other side, Simeon Stanley netted seven points.

Also, the New Amsterdam Multilateral brushed aside North Georgetown 45-21. Samuel Welcome bagged 12 points and five rebounds, while Joshua Hamilton tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Adding nine points and five rebounds was Tyrese Arthur. For the loser, Sean Duncan amassed nine points and eight rebounds, while Breann Ritchie scored four points and six rebounds. The Government Technical Institute overcame the YBG Academy 27-20. Yisrael Yeeknahyah bagged a double-double of 10 points and as many rebounds, while Deshawn Akin chipped in with four points and 19 rebounds. For YBG, Khafani McAllister netted 10 points and five rebounds.

In another result, President’s College thrashed Marian Academy 41-14. Raymond Paul led the rout with 11 points and five rebounds, while Jaheim Barnwell recorded nine points and 14 rebounds. For the loser, Marian Fiedtkou netted nine points and four rebounds.
