Police force rotates heads of Operations, Administration, Special Branch

-modernisation plan cited as reason

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has announced the rotation of three Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members, as a part of its modernisation plan.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (ag), Ravindradat Budhram, who was head of Operations is now head of Administration. Deputy Commissioner (ag), Calvin Brutus, who was the head of Administration is now the head of Special Branch. Assistant Com-missioner, Errol Watts, who was head of special branch is now head of Operations.

The GPF in a brief statement on Thursday night, refuted several social media posts and online news reports about a “shake-up” among the top brass of the force. Accord-ing to the GPF, the rotation of officers is a management tool that is used to create and foster efficiency in an organisation.

Further, regarding a social media post by an overseas-based Guyanese which stated that the police commissioner and another senior officer were sent home as part of an ongoing investigation by SOCU, the release asserted, “Please note that this is not true. This report is misleading and fake.”
