Vet, chef, guard held over cocaine on Vlissengen road

The cocaine seized

On Thursday, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU)  officers conducted an operation in the Vlissengen Road, Georgetown area, where they intercepted a motor car. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle revealed several brick-like parcels containing a whitish, powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, a release yesterday from CANU said.

Joel Hodge, 44, a security guard of Urquhart Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown; Rawle Hoyte, 52, a chef of Lot 47 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown; and Quacy Joseph, 40, a veterinarian doctor of 5th Field Cummings Lodge, Georgetown, were arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 5.672 kg.

Investigations are ongoing.
