SAGICOR Junior Tennis Championship
Michael Fordyce, Nathan DeNobrega, Matthew Jardine, and Isabella Granum recorded convincing wins when the SAGICOR Junior Tennis Championship commenced yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago.
Fordyce downed Jacob Alleyne of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) in straight sets, 4-2, 5-3, in his first match in the Boy’s U-10 division. He then bested Holden Hadeed of T&T 4-2, 4-1.
In the Boy’s U-14 segment, DeNobrega brushed aside Novak Malcolm of T&T 6-1, 6-1. Meanwhile, Jardine dismissed T&T’s Kitwana Ramkissoon Henry 4-2, 4-0 in the Boy’s senior section. In the Girl’s U-10 section, Granum thrashed Jaeda Dowlat of T&T 4-0, 4-2.
In other results, Nikosi Bacchus thrashed Dillon Stuart of T&T 4-1, 4-0 in the Boy’s senior section, while Mia Bullen downed Emma Clarke of T&T 4-2, 4-0, and Nikosi Bacchus dispatched T&T’s Dillon Stuart 4-1, 4-0.
Meanwhile, Gerald Scotland blanked T&T’s Micaiah Lewis-Bostic 6-0, 6-0, while Navindra Arjune overcame Jacob Jacelon of T&T 4-6, 6-3, and 6-3 in the Boy’s U-18 segment.
Also, Rafeeq Prince lost to T&T’s Josh Mohammed 1-4, 0-4 in the Boy’s junior section, while Denzel Luthers went down to Jayden Mitchell of T&T 2-6, 6-7(8).
