CWI Women’s U-19 T20 Championship
Guyana continued its successful run in the CWI Rising Stars U-19 Women’s T20 Championship with a close 5-run win over Barbados in a low-scoring encounter yesterday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.
After winning the toss, Guyana’s skipper, Realanna Grimmond, elected to bat. By the time Barbados had skittled the Guyanese for 57 runs in 17.2 overs, the prospect of a win looked bleak for Grimmond and her teammates.
Erin Dean led the dismantling for Barbados, picking up a stunning 4-5 (2.2 overs), with only Tilleya Maramootoo (12), Grimmond (8), and Laurene Williams (7) making any sort of score past 5.
