Owen Accra, who was accused of killing Nair Khan back in 2018, has been found not guilty of manslaughter.
The verdict was delivered on June 25th, 2024, following a trial before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow in the High Court.
The incident in question occurred in February 2018. According to reports, an argument erupted between Accra and Khan, during which Khan allegedly attacked Accra with a knife. A fight ensued, and Khan left the house where the confrontation occurred. He collapsed and died some distance away.
Khan, called ‘Tarzan,’ 29, of Bud Street, Line Top, Vergenoegen, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with a gaping wound to his left hand.
His body was found about 110 yards away from the suspect’s Burn Street, Vergenoegen home, where the stabbing occurred.
In their release back in 2018 the police stated that the argument stemmed from the accusation that Khan was having a relationship with the suspect’s wife.
Accra was represented by Attorney Kiswana Jefford from the law firm Hughes, Fields and Stoby. The State’s case was prosecuted by Tanesha Saygon and Marissa Edwards.
