Gun discharged following serious accident near aquatic centre

Police are investigating a serious accident which occurred on Monday at about 10.46 pm on the Railway Embankment road in the vicinity of the Aquatic Centre and the discharging of a gun by someone connected to the injured person.

The police yesterday said that the accident involved motorcar #PAD 7667, owned and driven by Samuel Blackman, a 22-year-old from Non-Pariel, East Coast Demerara, and motorcycle #CK 3289, owned and ridden by Quacy McCalmon, a 31-year-old from Norton Street, Lodge.

According to Blackman,  he was proceeding west on the Railway Embankment road, and while in the vicinity of the Aquatic Centre, he made a U-turn and felt an impact on the front of his vehicle.
