No gov’t seems keen on reform of elections vote-counting system

Dear Editor,

Almost four years ago I wrote the President making observations for

the reform of the elections vote-counting system. I suggested there was a system that could provide Statements of Poll in less than two hours. The system was also less expensive, with fewer recurrent expenses, easier to administer, and far less open to fraud. I also suggested the depoliticization of the elections commission. I did not receive even an acknowledgement of my letter.

The recent call by Vishnu Bisram for similar reforms is therefore like “spinning

top in mud”. No government seems to be keen on change in the status quo.

Yours truly,

Clairmont Lye
