SAGICOR Junior Tennis Championship

The team of Dequan Boston and Rafeeq Prince stormed into the semifinal round of the Boy’s doubles division of the SAGICOR Junior Tennis Championship in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), following a commanding win over the host pair of Kairon Griffith and Nicholas McLetchie yesterday.

Boston/Prince won the first set 6/2 to take a 1-0 advantage. They then sealed the victory in the second stanza as they prevailed 6/4.

Meanwhile, in the Round of 16 of the Boy’s U-16 section, Navindra Arjune, in collaboration with Aaron Suberto of T&T, bested the pair of T&T combinations of Jonathan De Gannes and Javed Dowlat 6/1, 6/1.

In the Boy’s U-14 Doubles section, Nathan DeNobrega and Denny Estava of St Lucia thrashed Gabriel Mansoor and Ryan Stuart of T&T 6/1, 6/0 to seal a place in the semifinal section.

In the Junior Girl’s Doubles division, the team of Melissa Goodman and Samara Siland went down to the team of Samiyah Mohammed (T&T) and Kahendra Mukora (USA) 2/6, 2/6.

Also, in the Girl’s U-10 Doubles Division, Isabella Granum, in partnership with Gabriella Jones of T&T, went down to the T&T team of Suriya Ramdath and Amelia Woo 4/0, 2/4, and 15/13. The event continues today.
