Armed bandits rob Albouystown man of $2m chain

Police are investigating an armed robbery where the victim, Hudson Thompson, 28, of Albouystown, Georgetown, was robbed on Tuesday at about 7 pm, of a gold and diamond chain valued at $2 million.

According to police, the robbery which occurred at James Street, Albouystown was carried out by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. No injury was reported.

Investigations revealed that Thompson was on James Street, seated in front of a shop, and on his phone when he was approached by the two suspects who were on a black motorcycle.

The pillion rider dismounted and pulled out a handgun from his waist. He then pointed it at Thompson and demanded that he hand over his chain. The victim tried to resist, but the suspect discharged a round in his direction, snatched the chain and struck him in the forehead with the gun.

Following this, the two perpetrators escaped on their motorcycle east along James Street. No one was injured by the gunshot.

Persons in the area were questioned, and one 9mm spent shell was recovered at the scene.
