Six-year-old shot on Charles St

The front of the home where the shooting occurred

Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday about 19.45 hours at Charles Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, which left a 6-year-old hospitalised with a gunshot wound to the head.

Jeremiah Gustave, whose condition is listed as serious, resides with his mother, Keisha Gustave, a 39-year-old food vendor at 11 Charles Street, Charlestown who plies her trade in front of the house. She told the Stabroek News yesterday that she doesn’t know the shooter. All she can say is that she was sitting where she sells food and there was a shooting.

Investigations have so far revealed that on Tuesday night, Jeremiah was standing next to his mother on the eastern side of Charles Street when the suspect approached on a black motorcycle with a gun in his hand.
