(Trinidad Express) It’s now a horrific quadruple murder as the fourth man shot on Monday morning along with three others in Tobago died on Monday night at the Scarborough General Hospital.

The murders have pushed Tobago’s murder toll to 16 for this year.

In 2023, Tobago recorded 14 murders.

The quadruple murder is the first in the history of Tobago.

The fourth victim, Jumoke Duncan, was shot in the pelvis and shoulder and suffered a broken femur. He passed away at the Scarborough General on Monday shortly before 9.30 p.m., following a shooting incident in Black Rock on Sunday night.

The shootings took place in Black Rock. The four dead men are Anslem Douglas, 56, of Black Rock, Samuel McKain, 56, of Mt Pleasant, Gregory Hamlet, 53, of Golden Lane and Jumoke Duncan of Bethel.

Police said that around 12.04 a.m. on Monday, a group of persons were gambling in Black Rock when they were approached by three armed men who shot at them.

The assailants, who were masked and wore camouflage clothing, escaped in a silver-coloured Aqua vehicle which was later found abandoned along Toby Drive, Lowlands, Tobago.

Sources told the Express that McKain was the target of the three shooters and that it was a revenge killing for the July 1 murder of Nathan Roach of Mt Pleasant.
