‘Keep Your Five Alive’ Futsal

The 10th edition of the ‘Keep Ya Five Alive’ Futsal Championship will commence tomorrow at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue with sixth scheduled fixtures.

North East La Penitence and Alexander Village will commence the event at 19:00hrs. This will be followed by Showstoppers opposing Kitty Hustlers at 19:45hrs, while California Square battles Team Cruel at 20:30hrs.

In the fourth fixture, Gold is Money tackles Bent Street at 21:15hrs, with Leopold Street engaging Linden YMCA at 22:00hrs, and Back Circle opposing Order & Discipline at 22:45hrs.

The winner of the men’s section will pocket $1,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will receive $500,000, $250,000, and $125,000, respectively.

Tournament Organiser Kevin Adonis said, “Bringing together the best exponents in this version of the game was always the game plan, and when you factor in the significance of the occasion, it was unthinkable not to invite the best teams to give our loyal fans a real treat for this special celebration.”

He further stated, “Every night will be end-to-end action, and as the teams and fans know, you can only advance when you win, so in order to be part of the money, teams need to win to progress.”

Meanwhile, the women’s component of the tournament will commence at a later date. The winner of the women’s section will receive $300,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will pocket $150,000, $75,000, and $32,500, respectively.

The other playing dates are: July 19th, 26th, August 2nd, 9th, and 16th, with the final pencilled for August 26th.
