Circuitville and Timehri United recorded comfortable victories when the East Bank Demerara Senior Men’s League continued at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Circuitville tamed the Pakuri Warriors 6-3. Joshua Paul, who would record an impressive five conversions, opened his tally for Circuitville in the third minute. However, Nashen Simon equalised for Pakuri with a 15th-minute strike.
Paul responded to restore his side’s one goal lead as he completed his brace in the 24th minute. Once again, the lead proved to be short-lived as Tino Simon (no relation) restored parity to proceedings two minutes onward.
Nevertheless, two unanswered goals in the space of eight
minutes knocked the proverbial wind out of the Pakuri sails, as Paul secured his hat-trick in the 31st minute to make it 3-2. He then completed his helmet trick as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 39th minute. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.
Paul would then complete his haul, as he found the back of the net in the 52nd minute to further strengthen his side’s control at 5-2. Although Joshua Sandwell would reduce the deficit to 5-3 in the 70th minute, the result was then sealed in the 80th minute in the form of a Nikosi Morris strike.
Meanwhile, Timehri United maintained their perfect record as they defeated Swan via walkover after the latter failed to take the playing area at the stipulated time. Due to the outcome,
The competition continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of matches. The other competing teams are: Soesdyke, Diamond United, Panthers, Pakuri, Agricola, and Herstelling.
