CWI Rising Stars Men’s U-19 2-Day
Guyana got off to a horror start in the CWI Rising Stars Men’s U-19 2-day tournament in St Vincent & the Grenadines, as Leeward Islands medium pacer Nathan Edward ripped through their batting order to help bowl out the Guyanese for a paltry 111 on day one at the Park Hill Playing Field.
After his skipper, Jewel Andrew, won the toss and sent the Guyanese in to bat, Edward’s opening over was near perfection as he snapped up two quick wickets to leave Guyana on the back foot.
On the third ball of the opening over, Edward bowled opener Romeo Deonarine for a first-ball duck. While that brought Guyana’s skipper, Mavindra Dindyal, to the crease, his stay wouldn’t be long as he too was cleaned up by Edward on the final ball of the over after hitting a four.
