CWI Women’s U-19 T20 Championship
Despite conceding a two-wicket loss to the Windward Islands yesterday in Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana have confirmed a berth in the final of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars U-19 T20 Championship tomorrow.
After winning the toss, Guyana’s skipper, Realanna Grimmond, and her troops decided to take the first strike, and much like the previous four games, they struggled to string together meaningful partnerships, and no batter got into double digit scores with the team skittled out for 60 in 18 overs.
Shonette Belgrave and Nyia Latchman were the leading run-scorers for the Guyanese, with eight each. Nesha Alexander had outstanding returns of 4-8 from her four overs, with Selena Ross claiming an equally important 3-8 from three overs.
