In front of another full house at the Pouderoyen Tarmac, West Bank Demerara, Jetty Ballers booked a semifinal berth in the East/West Bank Demerara Zone of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets streetball tournament.
Led by a first half brace from Daniel Wilson, the Jetty Ballers again showed their quality in ball possession to ease past Pouderoyen Brothers last night.
Wilson, the fulcrum of the team’s offence was on hand to slam home goals in the 11th and 16th minutes respectively.
With a 2-0 lead at the half, the Jetty Ballers sat back and were content to keep possession and a clean sheet in the process. Up to press time, three quarter finals were yet to be played with Cayenne Massive taking on Team Family while the last two matches had Show Stoppers facing West Side Ballers with defending champions Ballers Empire clashing with Epic Touch Family in the final fixture of the night.
The prize money pool for the tournament stands at over $1 Million with the winner securing a place at the National Playoffs.
