(Trinidad Guardian) Police are unsure of a motive for the murder of businesswoman Carissa Ramrattan who was robbed after a gunman shot her at Toyota Trinidad’s compound in San Fernando yesterday.

Ramrattan, 25, of Grant Street, Rio Claro, died at the San Fernando General Hospital.

Ramrattan and relatives went to the company to drop off her Toyota Yaris Cross SUV for service, then walked across to the South Park Mall to do some shopping. When she returned to pick up her SUV around 11.15 am, a silver Nissan Note pulled up at the gate and a gunman emerged and shot her several times.

As Ramrattan fell to the floor bleeding, the gunman snatched her handbag before returning to the car which sped off along Michael Rahael Boulevard.

Ramrattan was taken to the hospital where she died shortly after.
