Berbice unit, Monedderlust, thumped Anns Grove 4-1 when the KFC Elite League resumed last evening at the National Training Centre, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
The contest was effectively sealed in the first half, as the Berbicians recorded three unanswered goals in the space of seven minutes.
Rayon Rose opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, before the lead was doubled in the form of Lomar Reid, who found the back of the net four minutes onward.
Terique Benn then completed the blitz, as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 30th minute.
Although Anns Grove was able to reduce the deficit in the 52nd minute via a Travis Williams conversion, the result was sealed in the 86th minute in the form of an Atlyn Brown strike.
With the win, Monedderlust climbed to 12 points and leapfrogged Anns Grove to secure the eighth position. On the other hand, Anns Grove remained on 11 points and dropped to ninth place.
