Renegades capture National 3×3 Basketball Championship

Renegades were crowned the Guyana Basketball Federation National 3×3 Champion, defeating Linden by a 21-15 score in the final on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

Travis Belgrave led the victor with 10 points, while Dominic Vicente and Nikkoloi Smith supported with six and five points, respectively. On the other side, Harold Adams amassed 10 points, with Shelroy Thomas the next best scorer with three points.

Due to the outcome, Renegades pocketed $300,000 and the championship trophy, while Linden walked away with $150,000 and the respective accolade.

In the third-place playoff, the Red Hill Ballers defeated Ballerz 14-12. With the win, the Red Hill Ballers pocketed $75,000 and the corresponding accolade. In the earlier semifinal matches, Renegades bested Ballers 14-12, while Linden downed Red Hill Ballers 7-5.

The tournament is part of Guyana’s scouting apparatus for the impending AmeriCup 3×3 Championship, which will be staged during the month of December in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
