Thirty-year-old Yin Xin Zu, a travel agent employed at the Muneshwers Limited Travel Service, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court where she was charged with possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of ammunition without a licence and remanded.
It was alleged that on July 9, she had in her possession, one 9mm Glock pistol and 14 matching rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Zu pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The prosecutor objected to bail citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence, noting that the firearm was found concealed.
The magistrate concurred and bail was refused. Zu was remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to July 22.
