Team Jaguars and Team Panthers played to a scoreless draw when the inaugural edition of the Boy’s U-16 Youth Academy Cup commenced last evening at the National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara.
The deadlock was unable to be broken by either side, which comprises players from the Guyana national U-16 programme and the Academy Training Centres.
Meanwhile, up to press time, the second encounter between Point Fortin Youth Football Academy and Tinto’s Sporting Academy, both of Trinidad and Tobago, was underway. The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
A total of eight games are pencilled for the tournament, which last for the duration of six days and will be contested in a group stage format. At the conclusion of the group segment, the top two finishers will advance to the final.
