Businessman and former national cyclist, Tyrone Hamilton, appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court yesterday where the charge of conspiracy to traffic 71.2 kilogrammes of cocaine which was laid against him was dismissed after the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) issued a letter for the withdrawal of the matter.
The charge was issued by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamond/Grove Magistrates’ Court on July 16
CANU had issued a wanted bulletin for Hamilton on February 28 and he had surrendered on March 4, accompanied by attorney-at-law Nigel Hughes.
The reason for the withdrawal by CANU is not known at this time.
