On Wednesday, the Mayor of Georgetown, Alfred Mentore and several councillors were given training on the recently launched Single Window System for Planning and Development Application.

The training session which was held at the Ministry of Housing and Water’s Brickdam Headquarters was facilitated by, the Chief Development Planner of the Central Housing and Planning Authority, Germene Stewart and Lead Consultant  Fareed Amin.

Areas covered include an overview and demonstration of the System, the process for applying for Full Application, processing of Single-Family Residential Application, and all other aspects of the use of the portal, a release from the Central Housing and Planning Authority said.

The Electronic Planning System was launched a month ago and is “revolutionizing” the planning and permitting process by providing a single-entry point for CHPA and its partner agencies; and facilitating easy access for both local and international investors to submit applications online from anywhere in the world, the release said. Its core principles include transparency, predictability, efficiency, electronic accessibility, scalability, and interoperability.
