UN Office on drugs and crime donates two advanced drones

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), through its Global Firearm Programme, has donated two advanced drones to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The donation, which took place on Tuesday in the Ministry’s Boardroom, was made by Roberto Codesal, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer and representative of the UNODC, a release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

The drones, a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and a DJI Mini 4 Pro, were received by Minister of Home Affairs,  Robeson Benn, and the Permanent Secretary,  Andre Ally.

Benn and Ally said that these drones will significantly support the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure safety and security within the country.

“This donation aligns with the UNODC’s mutual commitment to strengthening security measures and combating illicit activities. The advanced technology provided by these drones will enhance our operational capabilities and contribute to our mission of maintaining public safety,” said  Benn.

Codesal reiterated the UNODC’s dedication to collaborating with the Ministry to promote peace and security.
