Man gets three years for robbing taxi driver in Sophia

Shawn Harry

Shawn Harry appeared on Monday before acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with armed robbery and sentenced to three years imprisonment.

It was alleged that on July 10, at Plum Park, Sophia, Georgetown, Harry whilst in the company of another, jointly robbed Joshua Babb at gunpoint.

The prosecutor objected to bail.

The court heard that on the day in question at about 22.30 hours, the victim, Joshua Babb, was operating his taxi when he was dispatched to D’Urban Street to pick up the two accused and two other persons – a man and a woman.
