NIS’ records reflect its support services were successfully dispensed to the 93 year-old pensioner

Dear Editor,

Reference is made to a recent letter to the Editor in the July 17, 2024 edition of the Stabroek News Papers, authored by Mr. E.B. John, bearing the caption “NIS appears not disposed to visit and assist this 93 year-old”.

The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) hereby responds: Our records reflect evidence that a (P3CForm) Application for bank payment was received at NIS Brickdam & Winter Place Office to have his Pension deposited into his Scotia Bank Account. Mr. E.B John had received a pension book with vouchers from January 2024-June 2024. Our records indicate that vouchers from January- May 2024 have been cashed thus far.

To continue pension payments from July onwards, a Life Certificate was necessary and needed to be submitted. Subsequently, arrangements were made for a visit to Mr. E.B. John home address to facilitate the completion of another Life Certificate and his pension payments will be processed and credited to his bank account henceforth.

We wish to assure Mr. E.B. John, as well as all other pensioners who chose to convert to our Lodgment System, that their application will be processed expeditiously. The process of nominating one’s Bank Account is a simple one and is always given the highest level of priority since we are cognizant of persons’ reliance on their pension. We take this opportunity to request that Mr. E.B. John contact our Public Relations and Marketing Department or Customer Service Unit, for further assistance.

Sincerely,

Nickishaw Khan
