A historic Strength and Conditioning Certification Course, facilitated by two instructors from the the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association, is set to wrap up on July 22 with a number of Guyanese earning accreditation as Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
It is historic in the sense that the UK based instructors are only presenting the course for the second time outside of the UK and for the first time in the Caribbean.
The course was organised by InSync Therapeutics, Guyana’s first High Performance Centre that is set to be launched in the near future.
According to InSync Therapeutics’ Neil Barry Jr., the course “allows Guyanese to be accredited by the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association as Strength and Conditioning coaches, this is part of the standard qualifications to work with Great Britain Olympics or with high level teams such as in the England Premier League and around the world”.
Barry, is a physiotherapist by profession and has worked in various T20 cricket leagues around the world.
