Tigers maul Monedderlust in KFC Elite League

Western Tigers mauled Monedderlust 41 when the KFC Elite League resumed last night at the National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara.

Samuel Garnette commenced the rout as he found the back of the net in the 20th minute. He then doubled his side’s lead in the 33rd minute. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval. Upon the resumption, Michael Oie opened his account to increase the lead to 3-0 as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 55th minute.

Oie would secure his brace in the 72nd minute, which further extended his team’s advantage at 4-0. Monedderlust would record a consolation goal in the form of Tyrone Delph in the 80th minute.

With the win, Western Tigers climb onto 24 points and leapfrog Santos to clinch the fourth spot owing to their superior goal differential, albeit the latter having a game in hand. On the other hand, Monedderlust remains in eighth position on 12 points.
