The Lucas Stock Index increased slightly by 0.007 percent on the sale of 81,409 shares during the third period of trading in July 2024. Seven stocks traded during the period with two Climbers and one Tumbler enabling the market to recover about G$55M in market value.
The upward movement of the index was driven by the stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) rebounding by 1.075 percent on the sale of 31,106 shares and that of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) increasing 0.614 percent on the sale of 142 shares.
In contrast, the stock price of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) fell 1.216 percent on the sale of 1,845 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock price of Banks DIH (DIH), Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 20,331; 23,663; 100 and 4,222 shares respectively.
