Undefeated West Demerara outfit Slingerz maintained their pursuit of leader the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) with a thumping 11-0 victory over Anns Grove in the KFC Elite League on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre in Providence, East Bank Demerara.
The contest was over at the end of the first half following a commanding 6-0 score. Kemar Beckford bagged a double during their period in the 11th and 24th minutes, while Daniel Ross, Darren Niles, Curtez Kellman, and Marcus Tudor scored in the 21st, 31st, 37th, and 40th minutes, respectively.
The additional five conversions commenced with Tudor sealing his brace in the 51st minute. The identical feat was accomplished by Ross in the 54th minute, while Beckford finalised his hat-trick in the 78th minute. A second half brace by Andrew Murray in the 90th and 90th+2 minute completed the rout.
With the win, Slingerz climbs to 38 points, two points behind GDF. On the other hand, Anns Grove remains in ninth place on 11 points.
