Saving the Guyana Police Force

Dear Editor,

The Guyana Police Force is in crisis, inside a vicious circle of corruption and more from which it seems impossible to escape. Is the answer to clean out the Augean stables, stand down the current senior leadership and replace them with competent police professionals recruited from the Caribbean and further afield? Minister Benn has to act soon to stop this spiral resulting in the loss of respect for officers of the law. Thereby lies chaos.

Sincerely,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
