U.S. Sports Envoy Program for young athletes launched

The U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport – Guyana, National Sports Commission, and Athletics Association of Guyana has launched the 2024 U.S. Sports Envoy Program for young athletes between the ages of 10-17 years from Regions 5, 6 and 10.

The Sports Envoy program recruits passionate, community-oriented professional athletes and coaches to engage underserved communities, and empower the next generation of athletes as leaders through sport.

The four-day clinic targeting more than 200 young athletes and coaches will be conducted by American Olympian Mechelle Lewis Freeman and Coach Khadevis Robinson at the National track and Field Center at Leonora.
