Devanand Lall, a 49-year-old labourer of Sparta, Essequibo Coast, was charged with the possession of four grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The police arrested Lall on 18th July 2024 at Sparta, Essequibo Coast.
In a statement, the police said that on Monday, the case was heard at the Charity Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke. The charge was read to the defendant, and he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, and the defendant was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned to 2024-08-14 at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.
