UNDP donates equipment to Ministry of Home Affairs

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) yesterday donated equipment valued at US$92,575 to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A release from the ministry said that the donation, made through the Spotlight Initiative Programme, aims to support efforts to combat gender-based violence (GBV) in Guyana. The equipment, which includes laptops, monitors, Lenovo tablets, security cameras, and keyboards, will be utilized by the Guyana Police Force and shared to various police stations across the country.

The equipment was handed over by Gerardo Noto, UNDP Resident Representative for Guyana and Suriname, and Nadira Balram, Head of the Governance and Poverty Unit, UNDP Guyana. Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn, Permanent Secretary  Andre Ally, and Deputy Commissioner “Administration” (ag)  Ravindradat Budhram received the donation.
