CWI Men’s Super50 Cricket
Guyana shook off the dust from their disappointing 2-day campaign to begin the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars U-19 Men’s Super50 on a positive note with a 13-run victory over Jamaica at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday.
After Jamaica won the toss and sent them in to bat, the Guyanese openers bucked the trend of losing early wickets as they had done during the 2-day competition and put together 56 for the first wicket.
Rampertab Ramnauth hogged the strike and got to a well-played 45 from 55 deliveries, which included five fours, before he was out caught to leave Guyana 56/1 in the 15th over. His partner Romeo Deonarine would be run out two overs later for a lethargic six from 42 balls.
