(CMC) – The dream of pacer Jeremiah Louis to follow his younger brother and become the second player from St. Kitts to play Tests for the West Indies hit a snag.
According to a post on the Cricket West Indies website, Barbadian pacer Akeem Jordan has come into the squad and replaced Louis due to injury.
The website post indicated that Louis sustained a hamstring injury during the second Test against hosts England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham and has been ruled out of the reminder of the series, which ends with the third and final match, starting tomorrow at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Fortunately for Jordan and, perhaps, the West Indies, he was in the United Kingdom and has joined up with the squad and took part in training on Wednesday.
Jordan was a member of the West Indies squad for the first time on the Tour of South Africa last year, and he was also a member of the squad on the Tour of Australia earlier this year, but he is yet to play a Test.
Louis will remain with the Test squad in England to receive further treatment.
