Dear Editor,
I sincerely hope that my erstwhile friend Tony Vieira would not be surprised at this (hopefully) published support for his letter of July 20 on the debacle that was Skeldon Factory.
I have always maintained the recollection of how then Attorney General Doodnauth Singh (my buddy) embraced me at a wedding reception not long after his return home with Mr. Jagdeo. ‘Dood’ seized the opportunity to complain about his experience of the faultlines his senior colleague committed during their successive trips to India and China in relation to the SWR Ghost’ which continues to haunt us.
The last South African Engineer who tendered for it confirmed his hopelessness of the machinery that could not possibly be activated in any language. I can certainly attest to the accuracy of Tony Vieira’s commentary.
Sincerely,
E. B. John
