All-round performance powers Guyana to victory over Trinidad

CWI Men’s U-19 Super50 Cricket

Spurred on by good performances with bat and ball, Guyana made it three wins out of as many games with a comfortable 89-run win over Trinidad and Tobago in round three of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Men’s U-19 Super50 competition.

Playing at the Cumberland Play Field in Cumberland, St. Vincent, Mavendra Dindyal called the toss correctly, and the Guyanese skipper elected to bat.

Openers Rampertab Ramnauth and Romeo Deonarine gave them a solid start, stitching together an 85-run opening stand, their highest of the tournament thus far. However, Deonarine was first to go, caught off the bowling of Aneal Rooplall for 30 (72 balls, 4sx1) in the 26th over.
