– Noel sets national record in defeat
Guyana’s first two athletes jumped into action yesterday at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, but sadly, could not book progression despite their best efforts.
Swimmer Raekwon Noel yet again reset his National Record (NR) in the Men’s 400m Freestyle, coming second in his heat but did not progress as he finished outside of the eight fastest from the overall heats.
While Noel’s previous personal best (PB) and NR were 4 minutes, 3.57s, this time he clocked 4 minutes, 2.29s, in the process lowering his PB and NR. He also finished second in his heat.
