The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) will kick-off its Kool Kidz Summer Festival on August 3rd at the National Training Centre in Providence, East Coast Demerara.
This was disclosed by a release from the entity. According to the correspondence, the camp, which will conclude on August 31st, will focus on boys and girls primarily between the ages of 7-11 and from the Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, and West Demerara environs.
President Wayne Forde, during the official launch on Friday, said, “We will be focusing primarily on kids between the ages of 7-11 but will also accommodate older children, everyone will be welcomed.”
He disclosed that the initial installment, which occurred in 2022, was a major success and that “many parents have reached out to the Federation over the past few weeks, eager to find out when their children can come and experience the fundamentals of the game.”
Forde further added, “This is a key part of our early talent identification programme. Young boys and girls with potential and aptitude for the game will be identified for further development.”
Meanwhile, Guyana Beverage Inc. General Manager Samuel Arjoon praised the GFF for the management of the sport, noting that the core value of the company is “human capital, and this sponsorship of the Kool Kidz Summer Festival aligns with that because it helps with the development of our human resources in the form of sports.”
