Approximately 400 Venezuelans gathered on Thomas Street between Quamina and Church streets yesterday afternoon to express solidarity and hope regarding the ongoing Venezuelan elections. The demonstration, which began at 2 pm, was a display of support for political change amid a tense and uncertain electoral climate.

The elections, seen as a pivotal moment for Venezuela, are a critical juncture in the country’s political landscape, where incumbent President Nicolás Maduro faces off against opposition candidates, including Maria Corina Machado. The atmosphere at the rally was charged with anticipation and optimism for a shift in leadership.

Jholannys, a participant in the gathering, voiced the collective sentiment of the crowd. “We are hoping for a new president. Nicolás Maduro is not winning; Maria Machada is winning. We are here to support this change and hope for the liberation of our country. We look forward to the results tonight,” she said. The rally underscored the deep yearning among Venezuelans for political transformation and a resolution to the prolonged crisis affecting their nation.
