Dear Editor
Four GDF ranks arrested, within days apart, after being found with substantial quantities of an illegal substance. This is a blot on the image of the premier security entity. It is obvious there are rogue elements within its ranks, even using the force’s vehicle in one of the illegal activity, while glossing over the first incident as ‘an anomaly’ while echoing the same rhetoric in the second, as it did in the first bust about “zero tolerance policy….committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity….” It is noted the lame classification of ‘an anomaly’ was not ascribed to the second incident. There is something seriously amiss in the security forces. Is lax management at the core of this abominable behaviour?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
